Individual Telehealth Therapy

I provide individual therapy services via telehealth to women across North Carolina in all stages of their parenthood and career journeys. I do not currently work with individuals under age 18. Telehealth sessions are typically 55-minutes and are conducted via secure, HIPAA compliant video conferencing. I have early morning and limited evening and weekend availability to best meet your schedule. You must be physically present in the state of North Carolina at the time of our session.

Walk-and-Talk Therapy (private pay only)

In-person walk-and-talk therapy sessions are available for clients who meet specific criteria and are offered on a limited basis in the Chapel Hill, NC area. These 55-minute sessions provide the same level of care and intention as traditional therapy, with the added benefit of gentle movement and time spent outdoors in nature. Some clients find that this setting can feel more relaxed and supportive of open conversation. Please note that your insurance company will not cover walk and talk therapy. These sessions are billed as private pay only ($140/session). Please visit the Walk-and-Talk Therapy section of the FAQs (below) for additional details.

  • I have availability for Aetna clients beginning 4/24/26 and BCBS clients beginning 5/7/26. I also provide a super bill for my out of network clients to obtain reimbursement.

  • My private pay rate for individual therapy, effective January 1, 2026, is $140 per 50-minute session. Please reach out to inquire about my sliding scale (limited availability).

  • I do not provide 24-hour crisis services. If a life-threatening crisis should occur, contact a crisis hotline, call 911, or go to a hospital emergency room. As an individual provider who is not in a group practice, I am generally in a therapy session during working hours and am unavailable outside of working hours. If it’s likely that you may need crisis support, let’s discuss this so that I can be sure you have the level of care you need. You deserve support that matches your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Telehealth?

I offer services by face-to-face video call using HIPAA compliant video conferencing so that our sessions are secure and the communication feels similar to face-to-face interaction. You will need a device (ideally a laptop, tablet, etc.), a strong internet connection, and a private space. You should plan to be on video for all sessions. During our sessions, you must be physically present in the state of NC where I am licensed to practice psychology.

Telehealth Tips

  • Ensure that you are in a space that is private so you will be able to remain focused and uninterrupted for the full session time.

  • Ensure a stable internet connection (strong enough to stream Netflix) so that we can be on video with one another.

  • Plan to be on video for all sessions - it really does make a difference.

  • Have tissues available. If we were in person, I would have them out for you!

  • Block 5-10 minutes for yourself after the session ends so that you have time to process, decompress, and transition before pivoting into your work or family life.

What is walk-and-talk therapy? What are the potential benefits?

Walk-and-talk therapy offers a flexible, movement-based alternative to traditional office sessions, with several potential benefits for both mental and physical well-being. Being outdoors and physically active can help reduce stress, improve mood, and support emotion regulation. Some clients find that walking side-by-side (rather than sitting face-to-face) feels less intense, which can make it easier to open up and discuss difficult topics. The rhythm of walking can also support mindfulness, processing and reflection. Additionally, incorporating gentle movement into therapy may be especially appealing for clients who feel restless, stuck, or fatigued in more traditional settings. While it’s not the right fit for everyone, walk-and-talk therapy can be a valuable option for clients seeking a more relaxed and holistic therapeutic experience. If you’re interested in walk-and-talk therapy, we can discuss this during your 15-minute consultation call. All clients must complete a formal intake session via telehealth prior to beginning walk-and-talk therapy. Please note that these sessions are not covered by insurance and are billed as private pay only ($140/session).

How often will we meet?

Treatment plans vary for each client and will be developed collaboratively, but people generally benefit most from weekly sessions at first followed by a transition to every other week or monthly.

What should I expect from my consultation call?

If you think I may be a good fit, I would love to connect with you for a free 15-minute consultation. During this time we will briefly discuss your needs, my approach, and answer any questions you may have about therapy or me. If it feels like a good fit, we can go ahead and schedule your first full session. I prefer to conduct consultations via video so that we can meet face-to-face, but these calls can be done via phone if that is preferable.

What should I expect from therapy?

We will spend our first sessions identifying your needs and goals and connecting with one another to build a collaborative relationship built on mutual trust and respect. We will create specific therapy goals and a plan to meet those goals that feels feasible for you in terms of session frequency and approach.

I’m interested! What now?

The first step in getting started is booking a consultation call. Consultation calls are free, take 15 minutes, and provide an opportunity to ask one another questions and to establish whether or not we are a good fit to work together. I prefer to do consultations via video so that we can meet face-to-face, but we can meet via phone if you prefer. By the end of the consultation, we can determine whether or not to schedule an appointment for our first session.
